You Will Not Remember the Calories, but You Will Remember the Moments

You Will Not Remember the Calories, but You Will Remember the Moments

The holidays are supposed to feel warm and meaningful, but for many people they become a source of stress. You walk into a room full of foods you don't normally keep at home, and suddenly you're calculating, negotiating, and worrying about every bite. You're convinced one day will undo everything.

Here's the truth: You will not remember the calories. You will not remember the macros. You will remember the conversations, the laughter, and how it felt to be present with the people you care about.

Let's make this easier and MORE about the holiday and what it’s about.

Start Your Day with Breakfast

Showing up starving. Skipping breakfast to save calories just sets you up for having zero ability to even get a hold on things.

Eat a real breakfast. Greek yogurt protein bowl with fruit and granola. Eggs with veggies and toast. A Devotion Protein mini loaf. Whatever works, just don't walk in running on empty.

Bring Something You Actually Like

Holiday spreads can feel overwhelming. Here's a strategy that I do.  If someone asks you to bring a specific dish, make it the way they want it and you LOVE it.  You DON’T need to health-ify everything with swaps.

Then, bring something for yourself to share that you know you like and you can nibble on.  I always bring my famous peas and pancetta and my mini dessert tray, but I also bring a giant  raw veggie and fruit tray with a Greek yogurt ranch dip and a Devotion protein dip for the fruit.

It’s something I will gravitate to and eat tons of and they always end up being emptied by everyone else too. This isn't about avoiding other foods; it's about having something that makes you feel good and can reduce any anxiousness you might have had.

When you have that one option like that, you can actually relax and enjoy everything else without being all weird through dinner.

Let Go of the One-Meal Fear

Before you spiral, ask yourself: am I sucking the joy out of everything and missing out on everyone?

If rigid rules are draining the fun from your meals, this is your chance to practice something different.

Remember What Actually Matters

One meal has never ruined anyone or their progress. One day won't undo your work. What you want and need to remember is whether you showed up present, engaged, and connected.  Life is about MEMORIES!!!!!

The holidays aren't a test of willpower. They're a chance to live your life fully, filled with love and laughter NOT anxiety and guilt.

You won't remember the calories. But you'll definitely remember the moments.
