High Protein Warm Apple Crisp

They're Back... Yes, Whey Too Sweet has once again produced another palatable plate of perfection! This time we've got a warm apple crisp filler with a sweet seasoned banana topping. If you're going to be naughty, why not make it Extra Protein Naughty? 

Wet Ingredients for Filling:

  • 10 cups sliced apple variety of choice. (Use a sweeter apple and reduce sugar)
  • 1/4 fresh squeezed organic lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup Organic Brown Sugar OR 1/4 Cup Raw Organic Honey + two tablespoon Black Strap Molasses
  • 1/2 Cup Truvia Brown Sugar
  • Pinch of Sea Salt
  • Homemade Apple Pie Spice Mix
  • 4 teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons Ground Nutmeg
  • 1 Teaspoon Ground Cardamom

Dry Ingredients for Topping:

Place the following Dry ingredients into a large bowl.

Method: 

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F

Combine all wet ingredients in large bowl and evenly distribute all of the spices and sweeteners. Spread in a 9X13 inch baking pan lined in parchment paper and sprayed with baking spray or coconut oil.

Add the wet ingredients to the bowl and use pastry blender or fork to cut in, creating large crumbs.

  • 1/2 Cup Truvia Brown Sugar
  • 1/4 Cup Raw Organic Honey
  • 1/2 cup coconut oil or Coconut/Palm Oil "Shortening" (solid form)
  • 2 Large, Ripe Mashed Bananas

Crumble topping evenly over the apple filling.
